Subject: MACCE End of Year Update
From: Claire Louder

Dear MACCE Members,

As the year draws to a close, I wanted to mention a few items to you. First, let me say thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve as your president this past year. I've found my service to MACCE to be a truly rewarding experience and I have enjoyed getting to know many of you better. We have a fantastic membership and great complement of chamber professionals in Maryland. It has been an honor to lead the organization and to work so closely with many of you. By all accounts, 2019 was a very successful year for MACCE.

I also want to offer my heartfelt thanks to the other Board members: Leonardo McClarty, immediate past president; Al Silverstein, treasurer; Angela Rose, secretary; Ginanne Italiano, at-large. And a very special thank you to Claire Louder who has been our MACCE Administrator for the past two years. Claire has kept us on track and performing well. Although Claire will be ending her service with MACCE after January, she has certainly left her imprint on the organization as it's administrator and as a former President and volunteer for the many years as a chamber exec in Maryland. She's also promised to stay involved with MACCE and has even committed to a sponsorship for 2020. Thank you, Claire.

As we look ahead to 2020, I would like to announce that Bob Carpenter, former MACCE vice president and former exec of the Calvert County Chamber, has contracted with MACCE to serve as our Administrator through his new consulting company. Bob will be working closely with me as I continue serving in the role as president as well as our newly elected Board - Angela Rose, vice president; Sharon Kihn, secretary; Richard Fleming, treasurer and Ginanne Italiano, at-large.

Finally, I want to remind you that if you would like to contribute to the MACCE scholarship fund through your chamber or personally, you can do so online. You can write-off the contribution on your personal income taxes. This is the first year that we've offered the voluntary contribution for the scholarship fund and we're hoping to grow it every year. Your contributions help provide much needed professional development for chamber execs and staff throughout the state.

I hope to see you at the MACCE Meeting on January 22, 10-10:30 AM in room 406 of the House Office Building. The meeting is just prior to the Meet the State program hosted by the MD Chamber of Commerce.

Wishing you a wonderful holiday season and prosperous New Year!
