The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce is presenting the 5th annual Drug and Violence Awareness Expo on Thursday April 18, 2019 at the Carroll County Agriculture Center. The expo will focus on drugs, gangs, domestic violence, and sexual assault and their impact on the community. The expo consists of continuous educational seminars, an interactive impairment driving course, self-defense, CPR and K-9 demonstrations, mobile forensic lab, a display of crime fighting vehicles, and over 60 exhibitors from various support groups sharing information on each topic.

 

Over 2,300 8th grade students along with several hundred high school students attend the event. Along with hundreds of citizens from the community. During the event individuals requiring health classes for their employment will obtain two accredited courses at no charge courtesy of The Carroll County Health Department. We anticipate a large percentage of the Carroll County business community attending a business networking event occurring from 12:30 -2:00pm. Local Delegates, Representatives and Mayors of Carroll County are anticipated to attend throughout the day.

 

JUST CONFIRMED! Lieutenant Governor Boyd Rutherford will be saying a few words to the audience at 10am and the Executive Director of the Governor’s Office of Crime Control and Prevention, Glenn Fuetson will be saying a few words to the audience at 1pm
